Environmental Lighthouse Report 2024

Vestnes Fjordhotell is proud to be an Environmental Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) certified company, both as a Green Hotel and as a provider of Green Conferences. Each year, we report on the steps we take to become more sustainable, and this year’s report for 2024 shows that we are well on our way – and that our initiatives are producing results.

In the report, you can read about the various measures we have implemented to lead the hotel in a more sustainable direction. We especially want to highlight that we are particularly proud to have reduced water consumption by almost 50 percent, partly by removing bathtubs and urinals in the men's restroom. We are also proud to offer Green Conferences to all customers who request them. We place a strong focus on using environmentally certified suppliers, and in this year’s reporting, we have chosen to include local suppliers from Vestnes to positively impact the local community.

In April 2024, we entered into a collective agreement – something we are proud and happy to have established. We continue to emphasize an inclusive and safe working environment, centered on social belonging, well-being, and gender equality.

Even though we see positive results in many areas, we know that environmental work is a continuous process. In 2025, we aim to continue our efforts with even more precise waste management, increased visibility of our environmental efforts to guests, and an expanded range of locally sourced products. We are also exploring the possibility of functioning as a sales outlet for such products – so that both conference guests and hotel guests can bring a taste of Vestnes home with them.
